Hi friends! I hope y’all are enjoying the cooler temperatures. Bloggers everywhere are rejoicing now that we can actually wear the sweaters we’ve been sweating in during photos haha! Today’s post is going to be on the makeup look in the photo above. After I posted this picture on Instagram, I got a few questions about what products I used and how I used them. I am by no means a makeup artist or expert, but through trial and error, I’ve finally found a great recipe for achieving this glowy-peachy makeup look, especially for cooler months when our skin becomes a bit drier. I’d love to share the key products I use so let’s get started!
- Before applying any makeup, skincare is always my priority. I know when my skin feels good, my makeup always looks better. I start by washing, toning and moisturizing my face properly (I have a full list of skincare products in a separate blog post). I rotate between a couple of daytime moisturizers, but for a glowy look, I rely mainly on Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel. It instantly nourishes, hydrates and plumps my skin, which is so important when going for a dewy look!
- After prepping my skin, I apply my current favorite primer by IT Cosmetics. This primer has great benefits for our skin, but none of the harsh ingredients so many makeup products tend to have. Next, I apply a product that is probably the most essential in getting that summer glow in the fall. The Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter is simply amazing y’all! I couldn’t quite understand the commotion when I used it the first few times, but now I realize I was using it incorrectly. For the best application, I use the doe-foot applicator to swipe the product gently over my cheeks, forehead, chin and the bridge of my nose. I then take a makeup brush and buff it into my skin instantly adding the perfect glow and subtle shine. This complexion booster is a gamechanger when it comes to glow-dewy skin, and has become one of my makeup routine staples.
- Next, I complete my foundation, concealer and bronzing routine (You can find more info on my complete current makeup routine on my other blog post). Afterward, I apply either the Milani Luminoso blush or the Nars blush in “Orgasm”. Both blushes have the perfect amount of peachy-pinky sheen that compliments this look perfectly. Adding a soft swipe of Bobbi Brown’s bronze shimmer brick is a must for me as well. I swirl some product on a round fluffy brush and swipe it over my cheekbones softly. This step adds the perfect finishing touch!
- Lipsticks can make or break a look, in my opinion. When I want my skin to be the main focus, I always stay in the nude-peachy family when it comes to lip colors. I’ve used NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Cream in the color “Stockholm” for as long as I can remember, and currently added MAC’s Powder Kiss lipstick in the color “Mull It Over” to my favorites!
I hope this helps answer any questions y’all had for me. And I’d love to see your glowy makeup look for the fall! Thanks so much for visiting friends!
