Happy fall y’all! Today I’ll be sharing my current makeup routine. Although I love playing with makeup, I’ve never been one to use it every day. So on the days when I’m patient enough to apply it, I want makeup that looks and feels good! Like most people, I’ve gone through my share of trial and error when it comes to makeup, and I’m so happy to have found some great products that are easy to apply and have amazing staying power. Let’s be honest, if we’re going to go through the trouble of applying makeup, it better stay put ;). For a full list of ALL my favorite makeup, you can check out my blog post, My Makeup Must-Haves. But for today, let’s dive into what I love to use for an easy everyday makeup look!
Starting with a clean and well-moisturized face is a must for me when applying makeup. Makeup just feels and looks so much better when our skin is well taken care of (skincare blog post: My Skincare Must-Haves). After cleansing and moisturizing, I’ll prime my skin with my favorite primer for the past year. This primer has 50 key ingredients that are essential to our skin and is also paraben-free, talc-free, sulfate-free, cruelty-free. Who can argue with that?! I love brands that combine healthy skin + makeup all in one! And for that extra dewy glow, I love applying the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter (shade: medium).
Foundation, Concealer & Setting Powder
Foundation hasn’t always been my favorite step mainly because I’ve had so much trouble finding the perfect match. And due to my skin being acne-prone, I’m always afraid to try too many new products. However, coming across the Cover FX line has been a saving grace for me and my skin. Cover FX formulas contain ingredients filled with antioxidants, vitamins, and are free of fragrance, gluten, parabens, and talc. Their Power Play Foundation (shade: N50) has great coverage and has never caused me to breakout. I also use their matte setting powder to keep my makeup in place. It works great over lipstick too for extra staying power and a matte look.
I’ve tried others, but I can’t seem to quit the Shape Tape undereye concealer (shade: medium). Why fix something that isn’t broken, right?! Especially when it’s a vegan formula made with the best doe-foot applicator. And, this Maybelline Instant Age Rewind is an amazing all-over concealer that instantly brightens my face.
Bronzer & Highlighter
My bronzers and highlighters are what I refer to as OG products. No matter what I try, I always come back to them! These bronzers can easily double as eyeshadow or even blush. And, these highlighters add the perfect amount of glow without making my face look too oily or shiny.
I love a natural flush or peachy look when it comes to blush. MAC, Nars and Milani have the best selection when it comes to achieving both those looks!
Mascara & Primer
Regardless of what mascara I’m into, I have to apply this primer first! It truly changes your mascara application for the better. The IT Cosmetics Superhero mascara is perfect for adding volume and length without being too heavy. And for days when I need that extra oomph, I’ve been reaching for this oldie-but-goodie Bobbi Brown Smokey-Eye mascara.
Eyeshadow, Liner & Brows
I have a few eyeshadow palettes that I love, but to be honest, MAC’s Saddle and Orb are the eyeshadows I reach for the most. They add the perfect depth and brightness my eyes need for any look. My eyeliner and brows are done in seconds with these tried and true products.
I am all about nude-pinky-peachy colors when it comes to lippies. So, these lipsticks are usually the main ones I reach for on a regular basis. (Shades: MAC- Mull It Over, Kinda Sexy; CT- Pillow Talk; NYX- Stockholm)
Having the right brushes and tools can change how much time you spend applying your makeup, as well as, how your makeup turns out. I also try to wash my brushes after a few uses to avoid breakouts and to help their longevity.
Thank you so much for visiting! Please let me know if you have any questions or if there’s something you love that I need to try :).
